The bags are durable for 30 years of UV exposure and are very resistant to impacts and pressure.
The bags will prevent flood damage and erosion.
They are easily placed and will have excellent resistance to river water.
As can be seen very little manual labour is used in the installation process.
BEFORE: Ecogreen Bluemont Rock Bags™ are made of recycled polyester mesh.
AFTER: The mesh bags are porous allowing oxygen and water to support plant growth.
Usually no riverbed preparation is required reducing labour costs.
DURING: The Bluemont Rock Bags™ have been around since 1987 so have a proven lifespan of over 35 years. They have been tested for a lifespan of 50 years in saline water.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are placed at the foot of a river bank to provide erosion protection and stability.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ can be lifted from one point – a steel ring- which makes installation possible without lots of manual labour.
BEFORE: river bank before, when Bluemont Rock Bags™ installed and vegetation still to grow.
AFTER: vegetation has taken hold and uses the Bluemont Rock Bags™ as foundation for good root growth
AFTER: Local stone can be used to fill the mesh bags.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are easily piled and form a stable wall.
The Japanese Civil Defence forces have used Bluemont Rock Bags™ since 1996.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are used to reconstruct the embankment which has suffered erosion and subsidence. There have been over 17,000 civil applications with Bluemont Rock Bags™ in Japan.
Small sized stones have been used to optimise flexible formation of the bags to the surrounding bags and ground.
Excellent resistance to currents: 2 tonne bag up to 4.7 m/sec, 4 tonne bag up to 5.3 m/sec.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are made of recycled polyester and are durable in saline marine water. They are porous and encourage fauna and flora to develop.
Bluemont Rock Bags™ line the bank of the river to protect the embankment from flood erosion.
BEFORE: Subsidence has caused river bank and road to collapse.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are step piled and will absorb wave energy well. They will accumulate sediments.
BEFORE: Bluemont Rock Bags™ being installed on a river bank to protect against erosion.
AFTER: Bluemont Rock Bags™ installed with vegetation now taking hold and providing even more protection against erosion.
The nets are easily placed in position with a single point for lifting.
BEFORE: Bluemont Rock Bags™ used to provide erosion protection and convert this concrete lined drain to vegetation based system.
AFTER: with the vegetation taking hold, the 'natural' aspects of this creek return from what was previously concreted over.
BEFORE: harsh concrete banks need scour protection from erosion by Bluemont Rock Bags™.
AFTER: The Bluemont Rock Bags™ provide a solid platform for the natural vegetation to take hold and further manage the erosion of the embankment.
The Ecogreen bags are made from recycled polyester & are green coloured and suited to a river landscape.
Embankment protection
Placement of Bluemont Rock Bags™ on a river bank for stability.
They are laid flat and adapt well to the canal bed surface. They will provide anti-scouring protection for the river bed.
Usually no riverbed preparation is required for installation of the Bluemont Rock Bags™.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ have a lifetime minimum of 30 years against UV rays.
The Bluemont Rock Bags™ are used at the front of the bank as foot protection.
In remote areas, the Bluemont Rock Bags™ can be carried in and filled with local rock.
